What are Speech and Language Services

Speech and Language services are available through special education for students identified as Speech Handicapped.  The Speech and Language teacher works with qualified students in small groups on objectives outlined in each student's I. E. P. (Individualized Educational Plan).  The A. R. D. (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) committee determines student placement in Speech and Language.  The classroom teacher initiates a referral by completing a "Pre-screening form" obtained by the school counselor or by completing an "Articulation Screening" form obtained by the Speech Pathologist.
